Trish Zimbalatti's true passion is photography, especially black and white photography. With a BFA in graphic design
and a minor in photography, Trish pursued
a career as a graphic artist in advertising agencies and marketing firms. She combined her love of design and nature
and started her own landscape business,
Zimbo Landscaping.
As a landscape designer, landscapes became
her palette and played a part in influencing
her to create the fine art she produces today.
Two important influences in her life were
Uncle Steve, and Aunt Millie. Her Aunt was a
china painter and fine artist herself.
Trish was in awe of the detail on her pieces.
Her Uncle Steve was a black and white
photo enthusiast.
Trish spent many hours experimenting
and developing black and white photography
during her college years and beyond.
Being very precise and detail oriented,
Trish developed a meticulous technique
and can apply it to any photograph.
From major cities, historical sites, nature,
landmarks, family photos, etc.
Her ambition is to create unusual pieces
that are awe-inspiring. Her techniques applied to photographs bring her images to
life in a two dimensional format.
Hand cut precision, coloring, and texturizing
each cut piece by hand and/or tool is what
gives each Photo Sculpture a unique quality.
The same photo is printed several times
with minor variations with exposure and filtering effects focusing on different details
of the image. As each layer is added, the images become more detailed to the point where there are layers within layers giving the
Photo Sculpture that 3D effect.
The photos are printed and presented
using archival materials.
Trish believes there is beauty in the simplest
of forms, and believes that the devil is
in the details in any photo.
