"I fell in love with Alcohol Inks the first time I used them. Drawn to the vibrancy of the colors and the way the inks flow on Yupo paper, it was an instant connection. My belief is everyone is capable of creating art, once you find your perfect medium.
For me, it is inks!
I love the challenge of creating an image out of abstract. It feels like a dance of pulling the ink off and adding more ink to create lines and forms on the paper. Inspiration usually strikes when I am playing with the inks. Seeing an image emerge as an object or creature makes me look further into ways to define it. I love creating pieces that draw out emotion, either in the stare of an eye or depth of color".
Heidi is a self-taught artist who has been painting on and off all of her adult life. In recent years her discovery of Alcohol Inks reignited her creativity and passion for painting. Though her subject matters vary greatly, her love of abstracts and color come through in each unique piece she creates. Heidi currently lives in Dunedin, a small town on the central west coast of Florida, where she paints and teaches alcohol ink workshops out of her home studio.
