William Hudson
Painting

"Born in Palo Alto, California in 1944, I’ve been an artist, at heart, since birth, but kept under wraps, mostly, until 2006 when I moved to Taos, New Mexico, to pursue painting as a vocation.

Structured education and training was mostly from a few private lessons, and some classes at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA, Edison Community College in Fort Myers, Florida, and the University of New Mexico in Taos. But I’ve never stopped looking at pictures and life with an artist’s eye.

Realist art and illustration were my main interests and focus until recently, at least in the actual creation of paintings. However, I am now approaching painting as play rather than being limited by subject matter and their familiar, defined images.

At this point my primary goal is to continue exploring media, subject matter, and technique in an open and curious way, and hope that the result will touch the viewer as much as I was moved during the creative process."
