Sue Mooney
Mixed Media

It is Sue’s passions in life that led the way to her art.

Sue’s colorful artwork started as a way to communicate both the joy and intensity her professional life brought her. Sue worked for years in social services as a strong advocate for both profoundly developmentally disabled clients and HIV/AIDS clients. She was driven by her passion to advocate for her clients to get the best outcomes

Sue always had a strong interest in art and eventually she decided to follow her inspiration and embrace her passion for color. She quit her job, sold her house, and bought a camper van. Along with her two yorkies, Sue hit the road to do the art circuit for a year and half-going as far as Washington, California, Arizona, and Florida.

Sue has done some of the best shows in the country including the Uptown Art Fair, and the St. James Court Art Show and she has been recognized in the media for her vibrant use of color in her artwork.

Sue’s creativity has evolved over time. Originally Sue digitally painted animals using color to add texture and interest. Her current works are textured abstract acrylic paintings. Entirely self-taught, she creates these works with a palette knife and continues with her signature bold and vibrant colors.

Recently Sue changed her business name from Wild Barking Moon to Sue Mooney Art to more accurately reflect her current work.

Come on this journey with Sue watch her creativity grow even more. Especially, as Sue says, “Getting lost in the colors is good for the soul”.
