Sharon West is an award-winning Loudoun County artist specializing in joyful, lush, vibrant, highly textured and colorful impasto paintings.  Her work is inspired by her love of all things botanical, peaceful landscapes and seascapes, joyful dogs and foxes, celestial angels, cardinals and birds, and patriotic themes. She uses palette knives and nontraditional implements along with traditional paint brushes to produce her paintings. West is very active in the Washington D.C. suburban art scene, often doing live demonstrations of her unique techniques at local festivals, art shows, charity events, and other large gatherings. She has been featured several times in Clifton Living Magazine and in Purcellville Living magazine, in fact, Clifton Living Magazine dubbed her the “Artist with a Heart” because she is a prolific donor to causes she believes in. These include local and national animal rescue organizations, veteran’s charities, special needs organizations and the Middleburg Marketplace. Sharon’s work can be found in several local Washington DC suburban shops and online. She is the first place winner of the 2022 Waterford Fair Fine Arts Competition in acrylics.
