Sandee Kozlow is originally from Toledo, Ohio. She has lived in Naples, Florida for over 30 years. As a child, once she discovered paint it became her passion. Mostly a self-taught artist she was compelled to create. Ms. Kozlow found herself climbing ladders painting mural's and making faux textured walls as a business owner for 12 years. Paint has endless possibilities, she could do anything with it.
Curiosity pushes her to learn and continually evolve in her work. Ms. Kozlow's style tends to be that of abstract with occasional work including representational coastal images. Her medium of choice is acrylic paint along with mixed media which creates many forms of texture using tools, rather than brushes. This becomes interesting to the viewer, it will create a desire to touch her work. The participation between the viewer and the painting is Ms. Kozlow's motivation always. Colors are bold and subject matter is free to be whatever it chooses as she paints.
Inspired by Van Gogh, she is determined to show her own originality and not be confined to rules in her work. Every painting is an expression of its own. Always exploring new possibilities, her work continues to evolve.
Ms. Kozlow’s paintings can be found displayed at the Naples Art Association within temporary exhibits. Her work is always on display in Sarasota, Florida at the "Artists On Main Gallery" which is located in the heart of downtown Sarasota. Recently in 2018 Sandee opened a Gallery in the Naples Art District. She has collaborated with other artists to bring a variety of work to the public.
Ms. Kozlow has donated her time to Empty Bowls of Naples, Fl. Her painted pottery pieces have been chosen to raise funds for silent auctions. Proceeds help to supply food to the less fortunate in Naples, Fl. This is a community project which invites the public as well as the local artists in the community to help make a difference.
Ms. Kozlow also teaches. She has taught 3 years with Artis-Naples summer camps. Her working studio offers classes for beginners to intermediate painters. The latest teachings are with Art Therapy. This is a great resource to learn. It will help relax and remove emotional bound up feelings and anxiety.
Additionally, she is the Vice President and member of the Naples Art District which continues to be a growing organization for local artists and the community. Ms. Kozlow is also a member of the Naples Art Association.
