"I started my career when I was very young on the island of Cuba.  In my family they’re all have been jewelers (grandfather & father) so I remember myself playing around my dad work shop.

At 17 years old I started to design my own pieces and at 19 years old I did my first exhibition in a gallery.  This changes my life forever and since that time I understood that jewelry is not only a business but a way to express my experiences and feelings.

When I was 19 years old I decided to quit school (college) and dedicated myself in full time to do jewelry.  In the next 3 years I did more than 30 personal exhibition and several more in groups where international artist were participating too.  I won many awards and the membership of a few organizations like the ACAA (Cuban Association of Artist & Craftsman- Asociacion Cubana de Artesanos Artistas) and the Association of Saiz Brothers (Asociacion Hermanos Saiz)

When my work started to be recognized at an international level I decide or I should say life decided for me to migrate to the United States (Huge change!!!!!)  My first job was as a jeweler in a pawn shop and with the time I started to do some custom jobs for a local jewelry store.  Then I moved to the Virgin Islands where I established a very popular line of production that was sold in the whole Caribbean area. Then Mayors Jewelers made me a job offer that I couldn’t reject and I work for  11 years with them.

In the last few years I started to feel again the necessity of expression and in January 2008 I did my first art show and I won the award of Best of Show.

Since then I have win some more awards and again I have that flame of creativity that use to have at the beginning of my career.

What is it in my future, I don’t know.  Right now I’m working so hard in new lines of design.  But one thing I’m sure, at the end my work will be always an authentic creation, because it comes from my most sincerely feelings of expression transforming my work in the reflection of my own".
