"Creative woodturning, an amazing medium and enjoyable art.  Trees are magnificent, often living beyond several human lifetimes. When a tree dies its inherent natural beauty can be an ongoing voice. Through playful experimentation I’ve discovered and refined techniques sculpting large undulating winged forms.  My work is influenced by my connection to humanity, nature and the cosmos, enhanced through personal studies, ancient and contemporary. With sight, feel and music piped through noise-quieting headphones, I patiently utilize Thai Chi type body movement to assist delicate hand sculpting of large winged timber at high rpm. My lathe studio is a whirling Zen zone where each finished piece brings a sense of contentment.”
