"The drawing of sound from wood is among the oldest and most primal manifestations of human communication and musical expression. When we hear it we are given with a sense of wonder and delight.
The acoustic aesthetic of wood has enchanted me ceaselessly since the first moment I heard a piece of it ring. I tune a board for the simple purpose of hearing it ring and putting some songfulness to its voice. I do this to please myself, knowing it will have a similar effect upon others.
The objects I have made are the tangible and audible artifacts of an ongoing process of discovery. I am clearly addicted to the work in which I engage. May there never develop a twelve step group for people like me."
