Painting

" My goal in painting is to create something beautiful.  It is to make something that will bring about an inner "Wow" every time you see it.  I want to make a painting that you can enjoy and will lift up your spirit whether you are just glancing at it or diligently studying it."

"My paintings also reflect my fascination with and appreciation of basic elements of art.  I'm attracted to the brilliance of spectacular color.  I photograph my flower subjects in direct sunlight to capture not only that color but also the dramatic effects of light and dark that direct sunlight creates.  I give my flowers form and substance, making my paintings very three dimensional.  My oldest daughter summed it up best when she said 'You're not painting flowers, you're painting sculptures."

"Born and raised in Minnesota, I took every art course available as I trained to be a high school art teacher at Concordia College in St. Paul.  After teaching one year of high school, I continued my art education with a few courses at U C Santa Barbara.  After twentyfive years of working outside the art field, including becoming a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, circumstances allowed me to begin  selling my paintings full time.  I participate in art shows all over the U S.  I have lived with my family in the West Palm Beach area since 1989. "
