"It is said that a writer writes best about what is most familiar and closest to the heart. It is truly the case with my painting.
I’ve been a painter, ocean lover and sailor for most of my life and am grateful to be able to combine my great loves on paper and canvas. Whether working in oils with their unmatched luminosity or with the immediacy and transparency of watercolor, I love exploring color, light and shadow within the context of nautical and coastal imagery.
I’ve been lucky to live and paint in Marblehead, MA for over 30 years now. It’s a beautiful seaside town which has been a source of constant inspiration. In recent years I’ve been painting along the Eastern Seaboard from Maine to Miami, expanding the range of my coastal subjects, and always happiest near the ocean".
