Lilian Delgado was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and discovered her artistic talents and interest at a very early age. At the age of 12 she was featured in Brazilian newspapers and the local news. She had her first international show in a five-star hotel in Salvador, Brazil at the age of 13.
Lilian’s mother was instrumental in developing Lilian’s artistic desires. Travelling around South America she recalls many Sunday afternoon strolls around the Mira Flores Park in Lima, Peru where her mother often took her to view local artist exhibits. Her mother encouraged her to paint and draw by enrolling her in private classes. After moving to the United States, Lilian’s family continued to foster her talent by enrolling her in local art competitions and art shows.
As a young artist, Lilian won many awards and scholarships towards her art education. She pursued a Graphic Design degree for several years at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. She studied with influential professors there, and went on to study at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota. She eventually went on to obtain a Masters in Business from the University of South Florida. Although today she is a full time accountant by profession, her passion for art has never left her. She continues to paint and is finding great joy in recapturing the beauty of her childhood memories. She depicts the colors of her memories in her vibrantly colored tropical flowers. You can see Lilian and her work in many well known art festivals throughout Florida where she now resides with two of her three sons and her husband.
