My love of history began at an early age; my love of photography stemmed much later in life. My sophomore year of college at Grand Valley State University, I took my first photography class. I went from being a possible history major to photography major instantly. It all made sense; I could blend my love of history, my personal view of the world around me, and artistic expression. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and shortly thereafter moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I began to pursue my fine art photography career and jointly started High Desert Arts, LLC; a fine art print shop in Santa Fe in April of 2010. In 2013 I was elected to the Board of Directors for the Santa Fe Society of Artists.
I photograph with a 1970’s medium format film camera, which I find rather fitting; using an old and forgotten thing, to photograph old and forgotten things. I spend much of my time showing my work at art shows around the country, and seeking out more images to share. In my spare time I enjoy snowboarding, backpacking and sharing the luxurious expanse of our 17.5 foot 1980 Coachman Travel Trailer with my husband Tony and our dogs Panchuela and Abiquiu.
