Julie has been painting for more than 23 years, but it was only when I discovered the Arts & Crafts movement that she truly found her artistic voice. The Arts & Crafts style has been a muse on her shoulder for the last ten years. Her love story with this period-style artwork started with a home renovation where Julie and her husband Brian turned a 1950s ranch home into a modern bungalow. She fell in love with the architecture, furniture, pottery, and lighting that when brought together make a house a home.
Julie graduated from Colorado State University in 1997 with a BA degree in Graphic Design and she is a board member for the Colorado Arts and Crafts Society.
Her artwork is about color, line, and shape and she strives to creatively translate the nature, architecture, and beauty around she finds into artwork for the Craftsman home. Julie also enjoy ceramics, photography, playing guitar and harp, as well as hiking in the Colorado High Country and climbing 14,000 ft peaks. Julie spends most of her time in the art studio, and with her loving husband and two children in Golden, Colorado.
