Artist Highlight

John was born and raised on St Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands. Already an accomplished sand sculptor by age 5, John grew up swimming, snorkeling, and observing fish and other sea life in the beautiful island waters, and pursuing his passion for art. He has now combined two of his favorite past times, sculpture and sea creatures, into his new metal art. 

John has spent his life working as an artist, designer, woodworker, home contractor, and sculptor, doing everything from designing and building custom homes to creating and hand-carving unique furniture and award winning sculptures out of driftwood and entire trees. 

He also worked for two years in LA as a sculptor and prop maker on award winning movies, TV shows and commercials (Stargate, Johnny Mnemonic, Earth 2) and created the original prototypes for the interiors of Disney Stores.  John, his wife Kimberly, and daughter Stella live in South Sarasota, just minutes from Siesta Key, their favorite island and beach community in the world!
