Painting

"Growing up near the water has influenced my work to a great degree.  It continues to do so.  It's where I'm the most content.  My wife, Mariann, and I love to spend time on our boat, "Cappuccino," a Fantasia 35.

My grandmother was a painter and my dad was a concert violinist, so fine arts were much appreciated in our home when I was growing up.  I began to enjoy painting at an early age.  It was only later in life that I turned to it full-time.

I've sold a lot through the Mystic Seaport Museum and at several galleries in the U.S. and Europe, but really enjoy travelling to fine art shows to exhibit my work.

I've been pleased that two pieces of mine have graced the walls of the admiral's quarters, designed by Jackie Kennedy, aboard the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy,  while it served as the flagship of the US 6th Carrier Group. I also have a "Marigold" aboard the new guided missile cruiser USS Mustin, built in Pascagoula, MS.  The Navy invited Mariann and myself to the commissioning ceremony in San Diego.  I also have work aboard  several private yachts and commercial vessels, both here and in Europe.

I've been a member of the American Society of Marine Artists for many years.  I also am, or have been a member of the Roswell Art League, the Rehoboth (DE) Art League, the Georgia Watercolor Society, CAFE and others".
