"Jeanne Steck is a self-taught jewelry artist. Her passion began after purchasing a beautiful necklace in New Orleans. Jeanne wanted earrings to match the oval iolite drop, so off she went to Wall Street Bead in Southampton, NY. The sales clerk helped her choose iolite teardrops and gave her a few pointers on wire wrapping.
Today Jeanne uses a variety of techniques to create jewelry designs that she loves to wear herself. Jeanne collects beads whenever she or a family member travels. She often incorporates larimar and amber from the Dominican Republic. More recently Venetian glass has been brought back from Italy and fabulous lampwork glass from Vermont and New Hampshire.
You can find Jeanne and her designs at Ollie's Coffee and Gift Shop in Downtown Wake Forest and art and craft shows near Raleigh, North Carolina. She also returns to Long Island each spring to participate in the Sag Harbor Father's Day show".
