Artist Highlight

Jacquie Vaux’s paintings always demonstrate her deep love of wildlife. “As long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated and inspired by the beauty of nature. This led me to my career of capturing these beautiful scenes and creatures and presenting them to others. I work in several different painting media including acrylic, gouache, but transparent watercolors are my favorite.”

Jacquie and her husband have traveled all over the world to obtain the photos she uses for her paintings. Their trip to Africa was a life-changing experience for Ms. Vaux. To the present day, her paintings of African wildlife reflect her first-hand adventures on the dark continent.

Now a full-time resident of Fort Collins, Colorado, she hikes  Rocky Mountain National Park regularly, carrying her camera to capture images of the local wildlife.

Her versatility is evident since she works in several different painting media including acrylic, gouache, and transparent watercolors. During her career, Jacquie Vaux has had more than 50 paintings reproduced into limited edition prints, all of which have sold out. Recently she has published 20 new Fine Art Limited Edition Giclee prints on canvas and on paper, all of which have been extremely well-received.

Jacquie continues to expand her skill and knowledge at Artists’ Workshops. She has studied with many master artists including: Robert Bateman, Carl Brenders, Terry Issac, Rod Fredrick, Richard Sloan and Steven Quiller.

For the past two years Jacquie has been teaching her craft to eager students, and  conducts workshops in the northern Colorado area. She has an amazing ability to show others how to create paintings with attention to intricate detail. During her entire career Vaux has been a dedicated Conservationist, donating many of her art works to fund-raising activities which benefit endangered wildlife. The organizations she has supported are too numerous to mention, but include: , The Wild Animal Sanctuary (in nearby Keenesburg, CO) The National Audubon Society, The World Wildlife Fund and The Nature Conservancy.
