"My name is Erica Castaneda and I want to welcome you to my online art shop.
Art became my passion at a very young age and I subsequently attended magnet art programs and advanced placement courses throughout my educational career. My artwork has been displayed at the the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair, Women’s Club of Coconut Grove, Impression in Watercolor Exhibit, South Florida Prenatal Network, Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials, Wilton Manors Holiday Craft Festival and Siesta Fiesta Art Festival. Also, some of my chalk designs have been displayed in various cafes, restaurants and private events including The Miami Beach Convention Center and Art Basel. I am honored to have won the Distinction Award in The Bass Museum of Art, 3rd place in the Drug-Free Youth "Butt Out" Billboard Challenge and I placed 2nd in the Junior Orange Bowl Festival of the Arts Poster Contest. Although my art work has evolved, my influences have always been what I feel, experience and the wonders of the world. My favorite pieces to create are those inspired by the wonderful people in my life. Throughout this creative journey I discovered an amazing “drip” technique using acrylic paint that has given my artwork a distinctly unique quality unlike anything I have seen before in the art world. My goal is to incorporate the abstract feel with life-like objects to give it a surreal, modern twist.
