"Diane Wright Designs creates handcrafted jewelry specializing in hammered sterling silver cuff bracelets and pendants as well as off-loom bead-woven bracelets and necklaces.

The sterling silver and or mixed metal bracelets and pendants are designed using clean, simple lines, texture, and composition. Some pieces also incorporate cabochons or mixed metal designs. Each piece is an original and is hand worked from design to completion.

The bead woven pieces are created off- loom and include Japanese seed beads as a base embellished by Swarovski crystals, pearls, buttons, semi-precious stones and other found pieces. A number of traditional bead weaving stitches are used including the Native American peyote stitch and the South African herringbone stitch. Diane gets her inspiration from the world around her – from nature and from the city and works organically to create the design. Beads are woven with love, patience, artistic technique and precision.

Diane is a Pittsburgh native. She has also lived in New York and Los Angeles as she pursued an acting career. Returning to Pittsburgh in 1983, she taught Theatre Arts and English at Rogers Creative and Performing Arts school, a Pittsburgh Public School magnet until she retired from teaching in 2008. It was then she turned her attention to her other passion – the creation of jewelry. A supporter of arts education for all students, she believes a strong foundation in the arts as children creates adults who are successful because they are divergent thinkers.

Diane selects high quality materials with which to design. She uses a design process that incorporates the artistic elements of texture, color, composition, and line. As with all art work, one of kind handcrafted jewelry touches the heart and the emotions. Jewelry enhances a mood and creates a look. My desire is that each piece that I create becomes a piece of wearable art that its owner will be proud to wear for many years to come".
