Artist Highlight

My art is all about having fun, and experiencing the joy of creating.. Drawing and sketching is a major part of my artistic process. I keep a sketchbook handy at all times and try to draw each and every day. When I begin a painting, I always have a subject in mind; However, Whether painting a floral, a cityscape, or the figure, I focus on building surface and texture, adding text or pattern while letting the painting unfold. I invite the unexpected to happen-and learn so much in the process of creating each composition-adding color on top of color, and enjoy uncovering new color combinations as the painting is developing. I enjoy experimenting with mark-making using non-traditional materials. My goal is to continue to evolve artistically through practice and experimentation.
