"I'm originally from the farm country west of Chicago, my love for art and color began in early childhood as I excelled in art in school. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in college at the same time my mom moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Santa Fe artist community became a second home to me and artists such as Poteet Victory, Janet Lippincott, and Richard Diebenkorn inspired me with their dramatic abstract expressionist work. This fueled my desire to begin my own career in painting.
The intuitive journey that I take in the creative process renders anticipation every time. It brings joy to experience each unique end result. Picasso once said, “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” This holds true for me today as my art brings me incredible inspiration through the challenges of my life...?
Christy currently lives on a small farm near Asheville, NC where she enjoys the beautiful green hills and trees and draws from them often in her work.
