"My name is Brittany Rose Simon. Growing up, I excelled at soccer and flag football, traveled abroad on mission trips, and meandered the wild acres of Loxahatchee, Florida listening to country music. Sometime around first grade, I met Mrs. LeClair, an art teacher at Acreage Pines Elementary School. She was approachable, soft spoken, and most importantly could paint pretty pictures. Something about her engaging demeanor and colorful depictions encouraged me to believe that I just loved creating things with pencil and paint on paper.
As a child, one of my favorite weekend traditions was accompanying my mom on the hunt for eclectic treasures— gently used furniture items at local yard sales. To me, those pieces of furniture represented fun-potential, since I was allowed to paint them.
I earned 40 dollars at age 12 when I sold my first piece. Uncle Roy was my first patron, having purchased an original toucan painting which garnished a small table I had acquired on a weekend fieldtrip with mom. Prior to its purchase by Uncle Roy, I had sanded the small, solid wood table by hand and adorned it with Walmart-brand acrylic paint using unremarkable paint brushes. It was a labor of love demarcating the beginning of an insatiable longing to create whatever I could imagine.
Today, I passionately fabricate original, commissioned paintings using Golden brand acrylic paint and classic cotton canvas.
Residing in Jupiter, Florida has inspired me to specialize in coastal and sea life themes, though I occasionally create pieces in other genres according to my clients’ unique tastes. Vividly bringing to life the imaginings of my clients has so far been a pleasure, and I look forward to depicting many more great ideas using my favorite tools: paint brushes and acrylic paint".
