"My wife and I worked full time when we started Glass Garden in 1997. I was previously a precision grinder for the Aeronautics industry and she was the secretary. Glass has always been a hobby, collecting, workshops etc, until we took a class in glass fusing. The class, along with my precision grinding skills, seemed to be a perfect match. After 5 years of full time work and craft shows, we threw in the towel and devoted all of our time to Glass Garden instead. Traveling from Michigan, (where we have 6 children and 21 grandchildren) we started doing 40 to 50 shows yearly along the east coast, and even all the way down to Florida, where we purchased our second home. This allows us to continue working during the winter. We can't imagine a more perfect lifestyle for us".
