Wormy Chestnut Tea Box 779

This unique tea box is made from reclaimed “wormy chestnut”. This once plentiful wood was wiped out in the early 1900’s. I was able to acquire a limited supply of choice chestnut that was in a barn in North Carolina. This tea box was constructed using traditional finger joint construction for the body, and a walnut burl top. The box is hinged using brass slot hinges. The perfect box to store or serve your favorite teas.
