Welcome to the 27th Annual Frederick Festival of the Arts with Craft Marketplace (Frederick, MD). Please read all information below to help the show run as smoothly as possible. We encourage all artists to post artwork, space numbers and anything to promote yourself on our social media pages!
Please be mindful of CDC guidelines. Masks are requested inside the show site.
Art Section Set up
You cannot pull up to your space for the art section, as festival is located in the canal section of Carroll Creek Park. YOU MUST DOLLY ALL OF YOUR WORK AND YOUR DISPLAY from your vehicle. You must have your own dolly, please prepare for this. We will have some labor force workers helping to carry and dolly your work and displays.
Please be sure to arrive during your set up time block. Due to a tight set up, you must unload and dolly everything to your space during your time slot. Park your vehicle in artist parking and then you can return to set up. Art Section set up and space assignment will begin on Friday from 8am – 6pm and resume at 6:30 A.M. on Saturday morning. Again, you will need to bring a dolly and dolly all of your work/display to your space for the art section; you cannot drive up to your space. There is no staking into the ground. All artists must leave name and phone number on your vehicle dashboard or you will risk getting towed. 2'-3’ awnings are fine, and they must be high enough for people to walk under them.
Where to park and dolly from based on your space number
Please note, if you find a parking space that is not reserved by our event, you may park there and dolly, but you will need to pay for the meter. All reserved spaces by us will have a no parking sign for Friday with the hours of 8am-6pm.
1-13A dolly in from Market St on both sides of street between All Saints St and Carroll Creek Park at 52 S. Market St.
8-34 dolly point is directly in front of 14 E. All Saints St. The will be no parking signs that will state artist loading and unloading. You may park there while you unload only. Non-reserved spaces you will have to pay for meter.
35-52 dolly in from artist parking lot at E. All Saints St and S. East St.
53-53A dolly in from artist parking lot at E. All Saints St and S. East St. and cross over bridge.
54-79 dolly in from Library at 110 E Patrick St.
80-86 dolly in from 3 spaces reserved from Carrol Creek Way, just past Carroll Creek Park. 34 S. Market St.
Craft Section Set up
Craft Section Set up and space assignment will begin on Friday from 10am – 6pm and resume at 6:30 A.M. on Saturday morning. Crafters do not have a time slot for set up. The craft section is located on S. Carroll St. however, you cannot enter the show site through S. Carroll St due to the City of Frederick’s hard road closure. You must enter the show site through the Frederick News Post Building at 200 E Patrick St. The driveway is on the left/east side of building. Once you have entered the show site and unloaded, you must be able to back out, this includes all trailers. If you cannot back out, you must dolly in. If you choose to dolly, we have reserved spaces at Patrick St at Carroll St. at 126 E. Patrick St and 200 E. Patrick St, as well as at the Delaplaine Arts Center and Carroll St at 40 S. Carrol St. If you choose to park and dolly in other parking spaces not reserved by us, you will need to pay the meter. All reserved spaces by us will have a no parking sign for Friday with the hours of 8am-6pm. Due to a tight set up, you must unload everything in your space, park your vehicle in artist parking and then you can return to set up.
For the consideration of artists, crafters, and patrons around you, please refrain from smoking in or around your booth or others. If you must smoke, please leave the show area. We appreciate your attention to this matter. Please keep storage off the sidewalks, walkways and away from store fronts. Please adhere to this especially if your booth is near a restaurant that has outdoor seating. All walkways must be kept handicap accessible. For your safety, as well as your well-being and that of your neighbors’, your booth, display and art must be properly weighted and secured. Please adhere to this policy, as Howard Alan Events’ staff and city Fire Marshalls will be checking your weights periodically. Non-compliance may result in your removal from a show. PLEASE HELP US IN AVOIDING THIS FROM HAPPENING TO YOU.
6 feet of physical distance must be maintained between all booths.
The space between booths cannot be utilized for storage or chairs, we must keep the show looking beautiful.
Your booth will essentially be on an island, so try and use your COVID-19 artist brain and make it visually appealing from all angles with your artwork. We suggest and encourage rearranging your booth, so it is COVID-19 friendly.
All artists must stay within the space parameters of the tape on the street and not go beyond the marked space. Check with staff members if you have any questions. All exhibitors will have two outdoor walls. Please bring enough work to show on two outside walls or utilize the space the best you can.

Breakdown will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, but vehicles will not be allowed in or out until after 6 p.m. on Sunday. If there are still spectators walking around, vehicles will not be allowed in or out until the show coordinator gives the O.K. Although security will be provided, we strongly urge you to take your items out of your booth on Saturday night. Everyone is responsible for cleaning up their space at breakdown (i.e., cable ties, cigarette butts and garbage).
Port o lets are located throughout the show site. Please see legend for exact locations.
The Tent Guys is a full-service tent rental company specializing in art tents and Pro Panel rentals. They eliminate the hard part of set up by taking care of the set up and break down of tents. Other services included with your rental are booth sitters, water deliveries, and on-site service for weather emergencies.
All parking, including overnight and oversized, will be free in the artist grass parking lot, located at East All Saints Street and South East Street.
RV & Overnighter Etiquette
No outdoor cooking, no dumping of any kind and absolutely no Sunday night overnight parking. These rules will be strictly adhered to. Because parking space is at a premium, all trailers should be detached from your vehicles and placed in a parking stall. All RVs must be stacked into a parking spot as tightly as possible. (Our properties do not want RVs that are loosely packed across 5-6 parking spots, taking up all the room.)
