The KING OF ART comes to Legacy Village

June 7th, 2008

May 2008, Cleveland, OH - With 90 shows ranging from Florida to Chicago, Aspen and Jackson Hole, the arts and crafts king is coming to town for The 18th Annual Art in the Village, which is set to take place on Saturday June 7th from 10am to 8pm and Sunday June 8th, 2008 from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free.

Howard Alan of Howard Alan Events, Ltd., is the largest producer of outdoor craft and art shows in the U.S. The KING OF ART had a humble beginning during the early 80’s - as Alan put together a caravan of weavers and potters and watercolorists and began booking them as traffic-builders for new or struggling shopping malls along the east coast of Florida.

The market began to shift from the suburbs to downtowns and that’s when Alan began signing up festival sponsors such as civic clubs and chambers of commerce in Naples, Fort Lauderdale, Delray Beach, Jupiter and Sarasota. It has been nearly 30 years and today Howard Alan events, is a year-round, nationwide operation.

The group’s founders personally select unique, culture rich cities for their show locations providing a complete out-door experience unmatched by other festivals. Each show is unique with works of new and upcoming artists as well as established favorites. All of the artists must be approved by a group of “art judges” in order to ensure a quality outdoor extravaganza.

The Florida family-based company is run by Howard Alan, his wife Debbie and their son Darrin. They deal with thousands of artists a year, logistical issues from permits to tent set up to security. Many working artists credit Howard Alan Events for enabling them to make a living through their unique creations.

The KING OF ART is available for one-on-one press interviews upon requests only.
