The Boulder Festival of the Arts on Twenty Ninth Street
The fireworks continue on the 4th of July weekend
July 5th, 2008
May 2008, Boulder, CO – The Boulder Festival of the Arts on Twenty Ninth Street is expected to transform the eclectic and trendy shopping district into an outdoor art gallery. The two-day outdoor art festival is set to take place on Saturday July 5th & Sunday July 6th, 2008 10am to 5pm daily. Admission is free.
“We are extremely excited to host such a high quality art festival in a beautiful outdoor setting at Twenty Ninth Street over the July 4th weekend,” said Lori Giggey, Marketing Manager, Twenty Ninth Street. “I can’t think of a better way to reach the community and bring together families and friends for a fun and worthwhile event,” adds Giggey.
This new show in Boulder was added to the Howard Alan Events’ roster thanks to the popularity of other shows in downtown Aspen and Beaver Creek. Unlike a typical gallery setting, the artists must be on-hand to show off their paintings, sculptures, jewelry, pottery and much more. Local and national artists were selected through a panel of judges in order to ensure the highest quality of creative pieces.
One of tinsel town’s favorite artists - Frederick Prescott – is brining the circus to town!
More than 20 steel animals will make their way through Boulder ranging from a 24-foot high elephant to a 3-foot pig. Prescott’s artwork has been commissioned by Hollywood’s “A-listers,” including Oprah, Sly Stallone & Steven Spielberg. Movement and surprise are key elements of a Prescott sculpture. He surprises the viewer by combining weighty and massive materials with the viewer's light emotion of a smile.
All of the work on display will be available for purchase with prices ranging from
$15 to $55,000! The show is produced by Howard Alan Events, the largest promoter of art shows in the nation.
Directions: Twenty Ninth Street is at Highway 36 between Arapahoe and Pearl Street close to Downtown Boulder.
